Location (?)

You can see it now, a light wind in your hair, warmth from the sun on your face and your love taking you by the hand. Your engagement session is a time for a fun connection with your sweetheart and photographer, and knowing just where to hold it is a big piece in planning it all.

Many bride-to-be's I meet with have an idea of what type of location they'd like to be photographed in, but it's up to the photographer to offer the perfect spot. There may already be a meaningful place in mind, such as where they met, held that first date or shared the first kiss.

The location could be natural or urban. Does she swoon when you mention a distant lighthouse off a beach, or get excited when you suggest a soft open field? Or perhaps she dreams of being among the dancing lights downtown?

As creative professionals, we must be experts in location scouting and know where the sun hits early and late in the day in those places. Then look for light, lines, texture & depth.
