Get to Know Something Minted Photography | Seattle Based Destination Wedding Photographer

If you're new to Something Minted, welcome! I'm Shelby, owner and lead photographer, and I'm so happy you're here :) If you're a current or past client then hello too! You may have noticed a few big changes around the blog, website and Facebook too! Shelby Schmidt Imagery has become Something Minted Photography! Aside from being slightly obsessed with the color...I believe every wedding deserves something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue and stunning wedding photography minted (created) uniquely to you!

Although a change in business name comes with a lot of work to tie it all together, this change was happily done so with the best intentions. The brand has remained the same soft, dreamy & romantic look to reflect my shooting style, but I have a beautiful new logo thanks to my sweet graphic designer Martina the Artist! If you ever in need of graphic or web design services, I highly recommend her!

Aside from my name being a tongue twister, (I dare you to try and say "Shelby Schmidt Imagery" fast five times...) I have excitedly grown from a one woman studio to taking on a few assistants & I wanted to choose a name that reflects more than just myself! If you're a bride who plans to visit wedding expos/bridal fairs around Seattle or Tacoma this winter then you will get meet my lovely assistant Whitney! She has been representing Something Minted at vendor booths this holiday season and I can't thank her enough for it! I have also welcomed second-shooter Lindsey to the Something Minted Photography family, helping me to capture even more of your grooms expression during that first look along with other big moments on a wedding day.

If you follow my blog then you know I am currently visiting my hubby in Columbus, Georgia, as he completes further Army National Guard training. Read this to learn more about my journey to Georgia He and I spent the greater portion of this year apart while he trained for his public service career. Being able to be with him for this training unlike the other has been the biggest blessing, and I am thankful to be in a position that allows me to be here in Georgia and still serve all of my lovely Washington brides!

If you have any questions about this or would like to inquire about wedding or lifestyle photography, you can email me at or give me a ring at 208-907-1774.
