My Year in Review & Excitement for 2015! | Life of Something Minted | Seattle Wedding Photographer

My Year in Review & Excitement for 2015! | Seattle Wedding Photographer

It's crazy to think today marks the start of another new year; the older we get the quicker moments seem to come and go! 2014 was a year to learn, grow, miss & most importantly love.

It was a year to grow my confidence in making big decisions and sticking to them. It was a year to take the step I've dreamed of & make my photography business a full time venture. It was a year to miss my husband as he spent the greater part of it training away from home. It was a year to make a cross country move from Seattle to Georgia to be able to spend the latter part of the year beside him once again. It was a a year to say farewell to friends (just for now!) and make new ones along the way. It was a year to see love and the promise of forever spread in our family and capture it too  It was a year to photograph more happy tears, "I do's" and first dances than ever before. Overall, it was a year I will not soon forget!

I went from a one-woman wedding photographer to taking on a couple of assistants to be my presence at bridal shows this winter in Washington + help me carry all the hot pink and green camera bags I bring to a wedding, and even second shoot! For their willingness to learn and sweet personalities to work alongside I am blessed. Shelby Schmidt Imagery grew into Something Minted Photography, specializing in wedding & lifestyle photography. Oh how I fretted about "the name" I would choose for my business. At first I was stuck on "Something Blue" and then I did some deeper thinking into what I do, not only as a photographer, but as an artist. That's mint an experience, memories & images unique to the ones I photograph.

I was excited for the new logo & shiny gold + mint color re-brand but didn't want to loose sight of what I set out to do when I first started my business nearly three years ago, and that's make the ones I photograph feel the love and beauty that surrounds them during a shoot and see it in their photos and products too! When you hire Something Minted Photography, yes, you will get all the lovely detail shots including big and little moments of the day, but, you'll also get a unique experience created for you after making a connection with you before + during the wedding day. I want the ones I work with to feel like they can ask me any question or favor and even forget I'm there during moments. My greatest goal, then and now, is to give you images that tell the story of this beginning so that it can be remembered and shared for generations.

Cheers!
Shelby
